Looks like a good start for the CRD chapter. Congratulations Danny, Brian and Chancellor! Kind of like a DA meeting with a raffle.

Re: Oregon's First Delta Waterfowl Spring Banquet 2/23/08
Being on the planning committee I never would have imagined it woudl be this much work or stress. Our area director says that this stress we are all having is a good thing it means we care and will put on a better banquet. well I'm here to tell you that it should be the banquet for the ages because there are about six or seven of us stressing our tails off over this. Serious though now that it is starting to come together its getting a little better.

Re: Oregon's First Delta Waterfowl Spring Banquet 2/23/08
Great time by all at the sportsman show. We managed to get some more donations there. Rolling hills pheasant hunt and Pacific wings goose hunt also a really really nice print (ducks). Promises to be great food and great eveing and really helps out the ducks.
OOPS about the 10 left I was wrong

Re: Oregon's First Delta Waterfowl Spring Banquet 2/23/08
Wow what a difference a few days makes in numbers of tickets sold/pending also in donations as well. looks like we have a trip to Alaska all planned out includeing airfare, salmon and Halibut. Some goose hunts, duck hunts, Lab puppy, Guns, nice prints, and above all great food and Yes waterfowl conversations are not only allowed but acutally encouraged. Doors open at 5:30 dinner at seven. Folks tickets are going fast with only a few left so give Brian or myslef a yell.
I can be reached at 503-369-4868. Saturday is the date.

Maybe I missed it, but where is the banquet going to be held? I'd love to go, but I can't make it all the way up to portland just for a dinner...

Re: Oregon's First Delta Waterfowl Spring Banquet 2/23/08
The Dinner is at the Stockpot Broiler just off of Hwy 217 and Scholls Ferry Rd Exit. It is a drive to come up from Eugene, but this is the 1st Delta Event ever in Oregon. I've been to many such dinners over the years and planned several for DU, but I am thoroughly impressed with the hunting and fishing trips we have lined up (fishing in Alaska w/ Airfare and goose hunts with the state calling champion, not mention the guns, puppy, prints and notable VIP's that will be in attendance. If you've ever driven a couple hours to hunt or fish, this one will be worth it.
On a side note, I spoke with several guys at the Sportsman's Show a week ago (while volunteering in the Delta Booth) that were from Eugene. I think the 2nd Delta chapter very well could be started there. Delta has been awesome to work with, the Regional Director for the NW came out for 3 days to hunt with us and help get this event organized. Delta does not plan on putting multiple Chapters in the same location, they like a buffer of about 50 miles between chapters. So we are it for the whole Portland Metro area. Whoever gets the ball rolling in Eugene, Salem, the coast, Bend and Medford will be calling the shots for a long time to come.
One important thing every waterfowler should know is that 25% of the money raised will stay with your local chapter to do "good things" in your area. This could be used for youth hunts, conservation, predator management you name it. Delta spends the bulk of it's habitat money in the Prairie Potholes which produce 70% of the ducks in North America, but which the Government only spends 10% of it's conservation dollars on (based on stamp sales - low population density of hunters). Delta is currently running the largest Predator Management Operation in North America in the Prairie Pothole Region. They are getting results which typically show a 200 to 300% increase in brood hatches. More ducks = higher bag limits and less restrictions and longer seasons.
Chris Moore - Columbia River Chapter, Youth Chairman

Re: Oregon's First Delta Waterfowl Spring Banquet 2/23/08
As of 1:00 pm 2/18/2008 , if you have not contacted one of the Portland Chapter contacts and made known your intentions to attend. I have some very, very bad news.
The event is sold out, we have no more tickets available to the general public. We would like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in the First Annual Delta Waterfowl Banquet.
