Default Bonneville Ramps

Does anyone know the current condition of the ramps at the fishery? Are they open and useable or do I need to launch at Chinook? Any other ramps between Chinook and Bonneville?

Thanks!

The fishery has both ramps open, they've actually made some improvements to the ramp and the dock. Maybe our griping earlier was heard?

Don't know about Dalton Pt., but can't imagine there's any way to launch at Rooster Rock right now.

At seven bucks a pop they should have been able to do some improvements. I still don't like the way they do business there...
Just my opinion.

Is the Beacon Rock ramp opened again? I know that the road got washed out during the floods a few years ago.

The ramp at Beacon Rock is open but you need to be careful when backing down. I've seen more than one person back off where the ramp stops, put there boat on and try to drive out. Where the blocks stop there is about a 10 inch drop, just be aware

In reference to the Fishery charging $7.00
a pop, Don't blame the Managers. The Owner lives in CA. and comes down for a week once a year. But he calls every week to see if the managers made him anymore money. He's a tightwad and doesn't want to do any improvements. The manager was telling me the only way he can get anything done is by doing "trade outs". I know all you contractors on this board know what that is....So thank some local's for the improvments...

Lets get the name and address of the California owner, (maybe through the county tax assessor?) and send him letters directly. Perhaps his mailbox full of complaints would spur him to make the improvements.

Stay away from Dalton Point. Low water rocks,
no dock and if the wind blows at all you will end up side ways sitting on your skag on concrete.

More importantly though, MAJOR theft of rigs and trailers from the parking lot.

Price or not, use the Fishery or the Washington ramp right below the Dam on Highway 14. Turn at the power lines on the
"Dam Access" road and follow the signs. DON'T
back your trailer too far down at the end of the ramp. It drops off.

How busy it it up at the fishery this time of year? I have only fished there once and that was back in early June when the shad were still running. The place was a zoo.
I have always fished the outgoing tides down river. At what point of the river is there enough current that the tide is not a factor? Is there enough current to keep you pointed downriver at Horsetail Falls?
