what disneyland lodging??
Love to stay at one of the DisneyLand Resort hotels....but price seems crazy when there's others around almost at the front door.
Any specific lodging suggestions for the family? Probably going down mid-April (maybe when Mariners play the Angels!!).

Re: what disneyland lodging??
we were down there a few years ago and my dad booked our room about a mile down the road. I think it was a Marriot or Hilton? On Harbor and Chapman. they had hourly shuttle busses and two pools amongst a variety of other amenities we never used. the rooms had 2 queen beds and he said he paid about $85 a night I think. there was a Target, big5 and restaurants within 200yds of the front door of the hotel. nice place and I have seen some GREAT hotel rooms.

Re: what disneyland lodging??
Mom was always the type to rent a condo with a kitchen. Breakfast and dinner were in the house, lunch was out and about. Saved a good bit of money overall. She would even go so far to pack the slow cooker so that would brew all day while we were in the park, then dinner be ready when we came in. You can google on housing rentals in the area and find a ton of info.

The Doubletree is a good spot. Nice hotel, big double rooms and kitchen. Good for families, and not the rip off that alot of places by disneyland area.

Re: what disneyland lodging??
We are going in April and decided on the Camelot Inn simply because it's right accross from the front gate. When the children get older and better able to hike a bit I have heard nothing but great things about the Candy Cane Inn. Be warned! Eventhough a hotel says it's accross the street from Disneyland, it can still be a long walk to the front gate.

Re: what disneyland lodging??
We stayed at the Fairfield which is across the street and about 10 min walk to the front gate. We also stayed at the Annabella which looks closer to DL but took about 15-20 min to get there. Anything along the strip out front of the gates should be good. HAVE FUN

Re: what disneyland lodging??
Price is kind of steep, but we really enjoy staying at the Grand Californian.
It is gated right to California Adventure park and a short walk to the main park.
It's really nice if you have park hopper passes and can come and go as you please. Again kind of spendy though...

Re: what disneyland lodging??
We stayed a few miles away in Irvine. Hotel had regular shuttle to the main gate.
Best thing we did was:
1. Split the park in to 2 halves and agree to stay on one half for the whole day, then switch the next day, etc. Decreased the long across park walks, more time for rides.
2. Opened the park most days, stay till about noon or so, then back to the room, delevered pizza by the pool for an hour, then everybody lays down for an hour. Fresh socks and back to the park. Some days we started later, took longer break and then closed down the park. Just tried to avoid the 2-3 hours mid day when it was the busiest.
Have a great time
