Default Probate

How long does it take to finalize a will. Is there a time limet set by law? The personal representative is dragging his feet and trying to line his own pockets. This is just to have a idea before it goes to my own rep[lawyer]. any info will be apprecated. Thanks

13 months into my uncle's estate (no will). I've talked to my attorney recently, and he agrees that things have gone on way too long considering how simple the estate is; the attorney handling the estate has a VERY bad local reputation for dragging things out.

We're giving it another month, then my attorney is going to make contact. Will cost more in the end, because the other attorney will simply charge more time to respond; but this has got to stop.

Good luck.

I have been hung up on a probate case in Canada for almost two years now.
My Uncle left a detailed will with part of his estate going to charity. It was that part that caused it to let the government get their claws in the process. Having to file a tax statement after every disbursement has drug the process on. Hoping to have it closed and finished in the next 60 days.

The silver lining is what the Canadian dollar is now worth compared to 24 months ago. About 17%.

Hang in there !
