Northwest Steelheaders -First Cast Jigs this Thursday!

Mark Anderson of First Cast Jigs and Tackle will be the guest speaker at the Tualitan Valley Chapter of NWS this Thursday 10/18. Mark is well know along the North coast for his bobber and jig techniques for salmon and steelhead. We meet at the American Legion hall in Hillsboro at 7:30. It's a fun time for all and you can learn what kind of conservation activities the Steelheaders are involved in so why not join us on Thursday. I'll be there! I am trying to talk my fishing partner into coming and joining(even though she lives in Milwaukie). Since we are going to Tillamook Friday morning I'm not sure that will happen.

For any of you who attend, sign up to be a member. The Steelheaders are a great group. I haven't had the opportunity to meet anyone from Tualitan chapter, but those at the Sandy Chapter are great.

Any card carrying member of NWS get a 10% discount on most fishing items at GI Joes. If you do much shopping there your membership fee is made up pretty quickly.

Se ya there Thursday. If there is time, I challenge Fishbait to a cork casting contest, across the tops of everyone's heads to a 'round file' target at the back of the room. [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] Well, maybe.

Mark has some cool things to demonstrate, including a water tank demo of different jig's actions. And as usual, Stew is going to dance on the tables for us. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] Before the meeting proper starts at 7:30, a 7:00 social half hour is the norm. Raffle tickets are sold for the post meeting prize drawings. Lots of good tackle and outdoor stuff is given away, usually including a couple graphite rods, because of contributions by ANWS sponsors. The meetings are open to non-members to check things out - and are eligible for the raffle prizes. The $25 annual membership fee is not only a bargain, it goes to good fishing causes. Hope to see lots of you there.
