Default PDX river report

2 fishers, 2 hours, end of the incoming tide and beginning of the ebb. We fished in the T-6 area and got a dozen shakers. All told there were a dozen boats in the spot and no keepers.

This confirms what I've seen in previous years. The keepers are scarce until after Thanksgiving. The few that are in the river are scattered.

Well there was one keeper caught at T-6 on Sunday for sure. Nice fat 42" that looked like an astoria fish.

Also saw one possibly two other keepers caught. All of these were caught on the Washington side. No action at all below the willamette.

Pilar, you out there Sunday? If you were I thought maybe that was you.

Fished the Columbia on Sunday with my brother and his son (15) and two daughters (12 and 9). Fished across from Frenchman's Bar in 48' of water for an hour with few bites but saw two keepers caught.

Mover to Kelly Pt. and joined a hogline of four boats. Caught about ten shakers. All the kids got to fight fish. Bite died at low slack.

Moved downstream to about 1 1/2 miles above the mouth of the Lewis and saw a blue Harbercraft anchored with a couple of other boats fishing below them. I shut down the boat and drifted alongside and asked how the fishing had been. They had caught a 43" fish and had intended to release it but the fished was mortally hooked. I told them we would love to catch one like that since my brother had just moved here nad his kids had never had sturgeon. It made our day when the guys in the Harbercraft offered us the fish. We were glad to have it.

We fished about 100yds above these guys in 36' of water for an hour or so and I could see that they caught another fish but could not tell how big (on smelt). When they decided to pull anchor, they asked if we would like a 47" to go with the first!

I would just like to say THANKS GUYS! We had a great day on the river and the fish really topped it off. Everyone enjoyed it right off the grill last night.

Sure meet some nice folks on the water.
