Default Cabelas bows

Hey bowhunters,

Do any of you own a Cabelas bow? I bought a PL 1.5 last year and it seems to shoot really nice. It is super tough, quiet, requires little maintenance and seems to be dead on. I dont like the quiver it came with or the copper jon sight much. What do you think of this bow if you own one or have shot one? I like it but am very new to bowhunting. What upgrades would you recommend? Thanks!

Something like a wrapped Cobra sight, and an Alpine SoftLoc quiver and a Trophy Taker Drop away rest

I'm pretty new to bow hunting too, and I've never used a drop away sight but I just bought my second bow and I really like the Whisker Biscuit arrow rest. I like it because it's really quiet and because of its design I don't have to worry about the arrow coming unknocked and making a bunch of noise when I'm close to an animal. The drawbacks too it though is that you lose some speed and it chews up fletching pretty fast.

Whisker biscuit's are a good hunting rest. If you fletch your arrows with Blazer vanes you won't get the wear on your fletchings like you would with a standard 4 inch fletch.

Thumbs up Re: Cabelas bows

I haven't shot the Cabelas bow, but I think you'd be very pleased with a Carter Quickie release. Very nice for hunting, and it helped me improve my shooting.
