WANTED - Looking For A Truck

I am in the market for a truck.

I recently bought a boat and need a good, dependable truck to tow it. It will only be used to tow the boat. I am only interested in viewing trucks in the Portland/Vancouver area.

I expect to put some dollars into the truck but don't want to break the bank. I will check out any truck mechanically that I end up interested in.

Details on what I am looking for:

Must haves:
1. 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton. Leaning towards 3/4 ton.
2. 4-wheel drive.
3. Extended cab or crew cab.
4. Automatic transmission. (learning to tow a boat, not wanting to worry about a stick and clutch).
5. Tow package with all accessories. Front tow hitch a bonus.
6. Clear title or one easily resolved.
7. Maintenance records or good verbal on history or where you had work done.
8. Tranny that will last for a while yet.

Wish List:
7. Short bed preferred.
7. Canopy a plus but not a must.
8. Under 150,000 miles.
9. Rest of mechanics in good shape.
11.Tires with good tread left.
12.Nothing older than 1995.
13.Any fluff/extras it has is always a plus.
14.No cracks in windows or windshield.
15.Body in decent shape. Some dents and scratches expected .. its a truck after all.

What I plan to spend? Less than $5000. I have been watching Craig's list for months. Seems there are trucks out there that meet the criteria.

So send me whatcha got. I want details/history and pictures. thx.

I think you are looking for a very tough to find rig. You may have better luck if you change your budget or change your parameters.

I agree with WRO, your current criteria puts you more into the 10k range than 5k.

ok, I got what u need, except......

windshield is cracked, its not an automatic, there is one dent (but not on drivers side- grin) and I believe its got 155,000 miles.. so thats would be 11 out of the 15 .. i'll P.M. ya

If you don't have your heart set on a p/u take a look at this one on the board: http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?t=183335
I know the owner who has carefully maintained this SUV. It will tow your boat just like a 1/2 ton truck but with no junky canopy on it. Check it out. You won't find a cleaner one owner vehicle in your price range.
