Bobcat in the back yard
Well, over the fence anyway.
I live at the edge of Sweet Home, but my property is actually inside the city limits (the line jogs out to snag my place, then ducks back in), so I can't really do anything.
We have some horse-training aids set up in our pasture, one of which is a 'bridge' that simulates the sound and feel of an actual bridge. It's in the first picture just off the top point of the diamond. That's where I found the scat this morning. (If you look closely you can see it on the right-hand corner of the 'bridge.')
It's definitely bobcat, and that's a 22-250 for perspective. I may have to do a setup just to see if I can get a picture. I've had lots of coyotes come through over the years, but this is the first bob sign I've spotted.
Kinda neat.

Re: Bobcat in the back yard
Baltz, here's some raccoon scat. The cat scat has the classic "tootsie roll" look while the raccoon is more uniform and blunt.
Bobcats are one of the only cats that don't cover their scat, but rather use it to mark territory. I'll bet he'll be back, and when he does I'm gonna try to get a picture.

Skein
You may want to clarify to baltz that they are not wild Tootsie Rolls.

Boy, you guys really know your _ _ _ _! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge.
I always remember that line from Cheech and Chong, that involves tasting of the yet unindentified pile.
