What are you going to get at the Sportsman Show
Sorry if this has already been on here. I did a search and couldn't find anything.
What have you been waiting to get at the Sportsman Show this year? I always enjoy the little diddies that I seem to buy but never really use. You know, the survior man stuff that one day you might need when you get lost and the lions, tigers and bears are out to get you. I know I'll be looking at a new pair of binoculars this year and I always have to get by the ifish booth to get a sticker or two and say hey to who ever is working. . Let's hear your ideas and what you might need for your hunting or fishing habbit.
XD

I will be looking at a new super vee (or similar)..............
I will be buying a new drift rod (Loomis or Lamiglass)
Checking out a antelope hunt in Wyoming..............
And always looking for some new wildlife art for the house.

Sit-down time with Jennie that we've been planning for months, and maybe some jerky.

I did not know they had this, do you have any details by chance? Day or time or it is an everyday thing at a certain time... Sounds like a great seminar

I believe my husband aka Wreckless neglected to state all the facts. I think it is important to understand there are very few items that he truly needs.
You see, he failed to mention the multiple rooms full of rods, reels and tackle boxes. He failed to mention his collection of Kwik-Fish, tuna lures, trout tackle, bass tackle, steelhead tackle and salmon tackle. He failed to mention his gun collection, decoy collection, boat collection. He also forgot his DSD's and decoy cart. How about all that fly gear and he only plays feather flicker once a year?
So you see, I simply challenged him to not spend his customary $200 at the Sportsman's Show.
I also noticed he failed to mention he currently has ME selling all of the tackle he doesn't use on eBay?
I am in the market for a Lowe Roughneck 1860VT and that is what I will be shopping for at the Sportsman's Show.

I'm getting a shot of my daughter's first time to the trout pond and... I don't know what else 'till I see every booth. One thing for sure, I hope to get a chance to meet other ifishers!

I am going for the annual sticker hunt.
Looking forward to talking with Glenn Hall again this year.
Picking up the Green Butt Skunks is a must.
Drooling on all the North Rivers and wishing I could buy another drift boat is most likely where you'll find me.

I don't know if there is something wrong with my computer, but the above paragraph displays as "Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah" on my screen.
I wonder if any other men are experiencing a similar computer glitch?

Re: What are you going to get at the Sportsman Show
Wreckless, your name says it all as does your other 1/2's. I hope you've got a real comfortable dog house to stay in for a bit. I know my wife well and would still get a pounding for those type of statement.
As for myself I'm going to look into a drifter and some little items that you just don't find around town all that easy.

Re: What are you going to get at the Sportsman Show
RE: The Lowrance Seminar.
We always go on the first day, and as I recall the seminar was at 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon. Your program will show it, or go to the Lowrance booth early and speak to the reps. It may be at different times on different days.
The wife and I always seem to come away with a new rod or two, there's some great deals to be had on demo rods from some of the other top makers around the country. We'll get us a couple of hats, maybe a couple of tee-shirts. Sometimes Bob's will have "last years" model reels for about half price.
You guys should really check out the "Outdoor Gear Bags" place, they've got some incredible prices on well made canvas bags in all sizes, the wife is going to get the cool purse they make this time, she says

Blah, blah, blah?!
You guys aren't fielding the calls from Cabela's regarding a franchise at our location. I keep explaining the cul-de-sac isn't big enough for a parking lot.
Fishbait knows us too well. Half that stuff IS mine! Wreckless constantly complains that my stuff is newer and way cooler than his.

I'm not 100 percent they will be there because they haven't release seminar schedule at their web site yet. But when I look at the floor Plan, it looks like they will be there and if so I suggest............
Look at the O'loughlin Trade show floor plan and in the upper right hand corner you will see where is says "Lowrance learning center". One of the instructor is Captain Jack Findleton, a friend of my who is a guide out of Sacramento and in summer a Captain at Whalers Cove Lodge.
What I suggest is first thing when you get to the show make your way over to the learning center and sign up for a class and then wander around the show come back when your time slot comes up. Click below for the show site..............
Even if you run other fish finders you are bound to learn something as they discuss actual fishing situations that were recorded.

Last year the Lowrance seminars were 2 hours, and I think there was only one per day. I don't know for sure about all days as we go only on wednesday, but I do know it was 2 hours, for sure last year.

I have taken my daughter with me for about 5 straight years. She's almost 11 years old now. The one thing we agree on before we go, is that we do a walk through before we go to the trout pond. After that she usually is ready to go home, way before I am.
I myself will be picking up my GBS Kwiks and probaly another rod for the boat. Not that I really need another one. It just seems like the thing to do.
And oh yeah, I will be looking at the boats. Unfortunately, only looking.
Unless I win the lottery of course!!!
