Default OUTGOING VS. INCOMING TIDES

i have a slight conflict going on tomorrow. valentines day with the wife in the afternoon and i want to troll near kelley point for salmon in the morning before the day really begins. i have read the threads here on ifish, up and down, and everyone is saying wait for the outgoing tides. what about trolling the incoming tide? anyone have any info out there for me, i would really appreciate it.

To anchor and fish a Kwikfish, outgoing tide works best. However, with high flows, it is still possible to fish off anchor. Trolling will work fine any time, but is most often done during the incoming or slack tide when the current isn't sufficient to set up on anchor properly. I know there are several old timers that fish an area I like that always troll.

The fish are there, and you have time fish , then by all means fish it...
The out going is (nearly) required to be on anchor to run kwickies, when it quits rushing out and turns it is pretty much a trolling show at that point anyway (unless you got a good current still).

GO FISH.
