How'd ya like my camo job?
Yesterday, it was too cold to shoot, so I took the left over parts from building my Volquartsen 10/22 and built my son a "new one" for sage rats. I wanted a finish that he'd think was "cool" on the synthetic stock, so I got out the blue tape and the paint. When I was done, I liked it so much I did my Savage .17 HMR.

Really like it. Both rifles look personally professional, which is my favorite.

Wow those look great. If you don't mind my asking, what steps to do take when you paint a stock. Also, what kind/brand of paint do you find works best, I've wanting to try something like that, I did an old .22 but never a real gun.
Thanks

Re: How'd ya like my camo job?
What I'm seeing looks like a drab base coat, lighter green striping, then black accents. I like it!

Amp, the stocks were synthetic, black.....I "blue taped" it off, shot the dark brown then shot over with tan so no one area was a solid color. then peeled off the tape to expose the black "tiger stripes".
