Primos video's
I was wondering if anyone has ever thought of anything that they would like to see new or different on the hunting or calling video's.

Re: Primos video's
I liked the early videos alot more than I do the latter ones.
For instance in the truth 2, it seemed to be more about the hunt.
Yes, certain calls may have been shown or mentioned, but I didn't feel as if the product was being heavily pushed. Nor does it seem in those early videos as if every hunt was guided on some piece of private property that I would probably never hunt.
I realize these guys on in Mississippi, have a business to run, and cannot afford to spend the time out in the field for trial and error type hunting. While they do present the "Truth" about hunting per say, it is no longer a "Truth" I can personally relate to.

Re: Primos video's
Thanks lor for the great reply. I totally agree and would hope they may make little changes in their video's to satisfy everyone. It must be hard from the business side of it.

Re: Primos video's
I love all of the Truth videos that I own. I agree that the earlier one didn't have as much of a marketing theme except for just a small segment on the calls used and it's true that there is less public land use in the later ones. Still, they are still alot better than 90% of what else is out there. IMO!
I would like to see more hunts like the one's where Will Primos hunted Rosies' in Southern OR. It was a little bit of a wake up call for him and his camera crew about Oregon's west side.

Re: Primos video's
I kind of wish they would put in the green scores of there bulls maybe right when it first shows up in there camera, just to give us a idea of how big animals are. and maybe a little less marketing but that's OK because that's what fast forward is for .

Re: Primos video's
I wish that they showed real hunting I will bet you that you will get a lot of bull action with their calls on a private ranch vs using a hoochi mama in the coast range. Personaly I get tired of guys getting out of trucks and walking over to a ridge buggling and getting 3 responses and they are off. I have lost interest in most all the videos and tv unless its Eastman or other DIY guys. That to me is more of the kind of hunting I ever be able to afford. Calls are great in unpressured areas and I will bet you can get a elk in as easy with a old larry jones call as Primos Bugle. Although to give them credit they did a coast range hunt and they commented on how much harder it was.

Re: Primos video's
Not to change the subject too much, but you should check out On Foot Films. They are done by 2 brothers from Oregon. I have met one of them, and he is really down to earth.
They bowhunt elk in Snake Unit, DIY, on their backs, common man style. Not just focused on killing, but the whole hunt from cooking, catching crawdads, failed stalks, missing, etc.
The 2 I have seen are "2 Weeks in Purgatory" and "Return to Purgatory"
They are really cool dvds.

Re: Primos video's
I have 1 (Primos) on yote calling with Randy Anderson and have a couple of others by Randy Anderson that were made before the Primos DVDs useing other brands of calls Randy can call in a yote with any kind of call.
Primos calls are OK with me, that is for yotes as I aint used any other of Primos 's calls.

Re: Primos video's
Instead of call, shoot, kill,, I would like to see some more camp life shots, doing it the hard way,,, Also showing them quarter up the game, straping it on their back and away they go. Basicaly more hunting than killing dvd.
Just my 2 cents, The hunt is more about the bonding with family and friends, living in the woods for a week or two, than just harvisting an animal.

Re: Primos video's
I like there videos, like what pretty much everyone else has said though it seems that there newer films have alot more advertisement in them. I would like to see a little less of there porch scenes and some more Oregon hunts. Primos and the Purgatory videos are my favorite hunting to watch.

Re: Primos video's
If I were to have a say in the DVDs, I would agree with BidD and Lastcall for more green scores, more pack out scenes and more fireside banter. I would lose the 10 minutes of how to call. Can find it elsewhere on their instructional DVDs.
This is pure entertainment. Nothing more for me.
The crap I see on cable is really bad for our tradition. Any Joe Blow on the couch can see cable and think that hunting is seeding in good crops and sitting in a wooden blind over said crops. And if you don't have patches on your arms for sponsoring, you aren't hunting hard enough. The products are a joke. Scentlock? Scent free you mouth? Come on.

Re: Primos video's
Well said. Also in the old days there seemed to be a bigger magic in some one getting a kill on the camera now you know it's going to happen 100% of the time. Now there is no mystery.
