Default Coquille River Success

Fished the Coquille river Fri-Mon. Friday caught a 12lb Coho near Rocky Point on a green Tee-Spoon. What a fish, jumped three times trying to throw the lure. I put one of those new Owner treble hooks on there so he wasn't going anywhere. Saturday near Roseburg Lumber had one opportunity on plug cut, lost it at the boat (my buddy didn't believe in sharpening his hooks but he does now). Sunday we changed to Blue Foxes on a hunch and Ah Ha! Had six opportunities and boated four. Monday had two opportunities and boated two. Biggest was the one I caught at about 10:30am on Monday, a nice 27lb buck right from the big blue complete with sealice. Thought I was snagged at first(I lost a lure earlier that day) but picked it up and the snagged started pumping hard. At one point it made an excellent "torpedo run" from the boat upstream about 50' just under the surface. It felt like we were on a German U-Boat. Overall an excellent trip. Outgoing tide in the morning is definately the key. Lots of debris at or near high tide, logs, stumps, etc. so hauling the mail at or near high tide is not a good idea.
