Re: Duck hunting anyone? Pic.
Pend Oreille river north of Spokane WA.
We got to the river after it snowing nearly a foot overnight.
Water was slushy when going up the river to the hunting spot.
After a few hours of hunting it appeared the river was freezing up. I ran up the river toward the bridge and sure enough.
We cruised back, loaded all the decoys as fast as possible and got out of there.
We had to break ice for over a mile while towing my brother in his boat with a broken down motor.
What a mess, we ended up with a couple of geese and a couple of limits of geese.
Funny thing is, we had the river to ourselves. Hmmm imagine that?
My bro went back the next day and the river was solid.

Re: Duck hunting anyone? Pic.
Lead boat was a 16 ft lodge Smokercraft with a 25 hp.
My brother was in his 14 ft jon boat with a broken down 8 hp.
No leaks.
I agree it was a little on the stupid side, but man was it fun. And I'll tell ya what. We ( me my dad and my bro ) will remember the day forever.
Now the questions... Would I do it all over again.
Heck ya!
Mind you I would not head out in conditions like this, we were just trying to get back to the trailers.
I'll see if I can find pics of a deer hunting trip I took, downed a nice 4x4 mule deer miles from the truck. A blizzard came in while packing out.
Had to cut 3 trees out of the road on the way out of the mts, some areas I was pushing snow with the front bumper, undercarriage was dragging all the way out.
4x4, chains, chain saw , and a heavy bodied mule deer in the back of the 4runner for weight got us out.

We launched the boats under the bridge at Usk.
The bridge is what caused the problem.
When that pic was taken we were about 200 yards from going under the bridge.
The deer story happend up on Nelson Pk, Boyer Mt area.
Love that country!
