Spring Bear if the baby is born, then opening weekend, and the last 2 weeks of the season.

Lets see? Shed hunting is just starting, then wild turkey season gets going, a week or two for archery elk, the entire season for a bighorn ram, weekends and stormy days hunting ruttin' blacktails with bow and camera around November and December. Oh yea, trailcamming season never stops!

I lost track?

Shed hunting is starting soon. I'm not gonna be able to make a turkey trip this year unfortunately. I will be trying to make a spring bear trip in E. Oregon in May. Then shed hunting/scouting all summer. Then deer and elk rifle season from Oct. 21- Nov. 25, in Montana. Then pheasents and some ducks for the rest of the year. So I guess there is never any serious down time.

Well, for me shed hunting soon I hope. Then if all goes well chase antelope in Wyoming, bow hunt elk here as much as possible. Help dad with his general rifle deer tag around home. Good luck to all.

Four days spring turkey for sure, and a week for deer.

I'm actually an anti-hunting activist and just carry the shotgun or rifle as a disguise while I walk through the woods scaring off the game. At least that's what my results would indicate for the last couple of years; though I did call in 3 elk with an Old Gobbler box call last May.

Good chance of retirement some time in March, and if so, I have the rest of the year to get all my bad habits done.

Decided we needed to hunt more before geezerdom sets in any deeper.
Thus,
March: archery hogs in CA, 3 days
May: rifle spring bear possibility (schedule issues)
August: OR archery elk opener, 3-5 days
September: archery elk in Colorado, 7 days
archery elk in Utah, 5 days (cow tag)
(We likes elk)
October: archery whitetails in North Carolina, 5-7 days
November: WA late rifle blacktails, 4 days
OR archery blacktails, couple of weekends

Of course, the price for this extravagence of time away is severe pain trying to make up all the work. Just now sitting here on day 26 in a row trying to catch up from last season. Sheesh.

We call this taking our gun for a walk in the woods. Works good with a bow too. Mine also likes to be driven around sightseeing.

My usual chukar/hun hunts over around Brownlee and then off to the Dakotas till I feel like coming home. More chukars closer to home till the season ends.

Would like to get back into duck hunting but not too sure what NW Oregon has to offer outside of Sauvies. Don't want to join a private club that has no ducks.... Open to suggestions.....

And I was going to be happy with taking a couple days off for early archery elk. You all are making me jealous.

On avg, I figure I spend about 1.5 months afield....not including fishing.
The wife figured it up once to prove her point.......I spend more time hunting than with her.
I had no answer back.
