Default Stewed is stewed

Would you post on the BB that I have been unable to sign onto the web from AOL. I get to AOL but I cannot get to the internet. If anyone could help please email me!

If he can get to aol and email you, then he's ON the internet. Tell him to minimize aol and open up his internet explorer browser to navigate. AOL is providing connectivety but, their browser may be screwy. I hate aol.

Shane,

Call their customer service group or re-install just AOL or upgrade to their latest
version (think it's 6.0) after you login.
Keyword AOL 6.0. As as test, as noted above,
minimize AOL and launch your normal internet
browser to see if AOL has you blocked from
the internet from some reason.

Just because you can get up on AOL's server,
does not mean you are in fact on the web yet.

Stew - emailed you a good copy of the winsock.dll file and instructions on how
and where to restore it everywhere that
requires it on your machine.

Another thing he can try is go to keyword webutil and download it then run it. There are some other things to check that have to do with going to control panel/network/aol adapter, but AOL cust. service would have to walk him through it. I've had the same thing happen to me. I could not access the internet, but could access my aol e-mail and aol content off their start page.
Good luck.

I'M BACK
Thanks every body for your sugestions. It was the old DSL software that conflicted with Winsock.dll. Thanks Jennie for posting for me.
