Default Eagle Creek Sunday

Finally got to fish Sunday morning. Lots of fish moving from the Clack into Eagle Creek. For about 45-1hour just wave after wave came up the creek. Saw a guy catch 2 on a black corkie. Had a bite on #1 Black on Black Vibrax, he spit it out after a few seconds. Saw decent action in the Clack at the mouth. Most of the fish were very dark and at best had dark pink stripes down the side. Most I saw were taking them home. Are these fish any good at this point or are they just taking the eggs? The coloring did look beautiful but I've never seen inside a fish like this. Did not observe any snagging, although 1 group looked suspicious.

Over and out.

Dave

Default Re: Eagle Creek Sunday

Already posted this on the other board, but here goes for everyone else. Drifted the Clack on Sat and Sunday for ducks and coho w/ Coot22 and another buddy. Kept 2 chrome coho hens on Saturday and also got some mallards and a drake wood duck. Action seemed best on Saturday. Every boat we talked to had fish - usually 2, 3 or more. Most were darker however. Sunday drifted again and came home w/ another 2 coho. Released one dark fish and lost another chromer at the boat. 7 mallards on the way down as well. Both of these were quick half-day trips. Great weekend for ducks and fish. I would have thought they had lock-jaw too, but this weekend disproved it. Just got to know how and where to fish it.
