Someone I know tagged a 20# Springer yesterday in the upper Milwaukie area.
He used some Prawns that have been sitting in his Frig from last year still curing in Bait cure.
Does anyone here throw away their old prawns ? I still have some in the freezer and they look
just fine. I put up some new ones for this spring but I won't hesitate to use the old stuff.
This person also told me that he doesn't notice any difference in his catch rate between cured and
uncured.
And he catches lots of fish either way.
The amount of Sodium and Sulfides that are in the cure would keep anything from eating them
including Bacteria. Anything except a Springer of course.
