Default Drifting Clackamas

Well I survived my initial trip down the Clackams today from Barton to Carver. I wish I could say the same for my boat though. Dinged it pretty good on a rock. Does anyone know of a place where I might be able to get a small (2-3") weld done? Could this same place also pound out a dent or two on the bottom as well? Thanks for any input. I'm also looking to put a coat of gluvit on the bottom to make sliding over the rocks easier.
Now back to the fishing. I would make a pretty good guess that the Clack is holding A LOT of fish right now. Getting them to bite consistantly is another story. We did manage to hook a few, about six adults between the two of us. We also scored some nice jacks, including two nice steelhead jacks, one was clipped and one that was not, both were released unharmed. A nice 17" jack went home with a nice 9# bright hen, that actually made the trip somewhat worthwhile. Once again if anyone could help refer me to a place to make a couple of 3" welds and pound out a few dents I would be very thankful.
Oh yeah, I've been going north for awhile and drifting a different river and I would say the Clackamas has a much higher raito of new fish to dark ones, and there might even be a few more. Just my observations after fishing somewhere else for a month.

Tight lines,

Are you needing a weld due to puncture? If so, most aluminum boat manufacturers have a lifetime puncture warranty. They would likely hammer out the dent and then they should weld the puncture or tear for free under warranty. Likely the same if welding is for a broken weld along the chine. If that doesn't work out for some reason, Steven's Marine main store in Tigard is equiped to due most any repair. But they are a bit expensive.

I have gone into Mac's radiator on Foster road for my welding needs on aluminum. They are really not boat people but if your problem straight foward i'm sure they can help.
