Default WTB Waterproof Digital Camera

Looking for an underwater digital camera to take to Hawaii next month. Doesn't need to go real deep because it will just be used for snorkeling. Anyone have one that they don't use anymore or have upgraded?

Thanks.

Andy.

Andy,

My wife and I were in Mexico last year....purchased two of the underwater disposables and they took surprisingly great photos, and they were less than $25.00 each.

Aloha!

I also chose this route and the pictures were horrible. You can not even see the fish that we were taking pictures of. Maybe an old batch? If you go this route, try getting cameras from different stores as to try to get a "good" one.

I did see a guy with a waterproof housing around his digital camera. I had some serious camera envy at that point.

The Sanyo Exacti E1 is a waterproof video/6MP camera. It uses a 4gb SD card and will take tons of video and pictures underwater. It good to about 10'.

look into the olympus 740sw it goes deeper than any other out of the box without a housing. 33'. I had a pentax optio that the seal leaked and killed the camera. I just got the 740 for christmas and like the way it is built. I am still getting used to the way it shoots, but it has lots of preset modes, 3 or 4 dedicated to underwater.
Other than that, buy the sony that is for sale here, then buy the underwater housing and go as deep as you want. I bet you aren't into a total of $250 if you go that route.

Thanks everyone for the info.
Also thanks Spooner for the offer. But I would still like to find a digital one.
