Default Green Peter Trout

Such a nice day (a little cool) and no wind just had to go fishing. Called my Buddy and got a late start about 11:00 on the water. As soon as we got trolling we started catching trout right across from the ramp. After about 2 hours we had eight trout and released a couple of small Chinook. Lots of fish marks in top 10' of water and all fish caught on rainbow colored needle fish. Was home by 3pm. Greatday/Great company

Thanks for the report and the reminder of another option for winter fishing. Only the 2+ hour drive keeps me from launching at 11 and leaving at 3 Might have to make a day of it- now that the "days" are beginning to inch longer and longer.

Of course you caught fish! Needlefish = success!

Long ways down to the water but Ramp was fine. Water level was about 935. Not even very muddy.

Stopped by Thistle Ramp today to hunt agate (score!), and check the ramp for a possible outing in the next few days. The NR Seahawk hasn't been out in awhile.

Since many of you have asked about the ramp recently...

The water was clear and the level at 932 feet, per the site:

http://www.state.or.us:8080/webramp/...=Green%20Peter

The lower ramp was clean edge-to-edge except for the last 5-10 feet, but tire tracks in the ~4-6 inches of mud at the end of the ramp cut clean to the grated/slatted cemet ramp. I could imagine a rear wheel drive rig slipping in the mud, but a forward spin or two of the tire would dig/blow the mud away.

Thanks for pics and such a detailed report! This is the part of IFISH I still love - all the sharing minus the bickering!

Never have been up to Green Peter, but I am getting the Jones's for some trout fishing. Does a new comer this time of year have a chance for a successful day of fishing. Would love to get some trout for something different. Experienced trout fisherman with an overly dry Thunderjet needs some water time. What do you guys think that fish this lake?
