I know a couple guys that have done this hunt. From what I have been told there is a good amount of antelope. They told me it wasnt really an issue about crowding because once you have your waterhole and have your blind setup, than people will leave it alone. Of the 3 who have done it I know they all shot bucks, over 12", but they are good hunters, and scouted 7-10 days, and knew the habits of the goats.

I hunted antelope in Montana with a bow at the of September, using a decoy. It was a cut out silly of a antelope buck, life-sized, painted on a sheet of plywood.

It was a blast. Typically, the dominant buck with a herd of does would run his girls off about 1/2 mile... or just out of sight... and then come screaming back to defend them by running the wooden decoy off. Shots happened fast, it is amazing but you hide behind the decoy or lay down off to the side, rise up on your knees and take your pot shot at super close range.

Water is key. Too much water, and you'll be sitting for a long time.

we ran into an issue with cattle. we scouted for a few weeks, came back and the two waterholes we were planning for were covered with cattle.

another waterhole was too close to a road, and thus ATV's were buzzing by on the hour.

we then got an unexpected rain and the roads turned to soup/caramel.....

maybe just bad luck on our part.
