Default ARGHH!!!!

I was fishing below camas today for sturgeon, when a huge yacht came flying by and damn near swamped my boat its an absolute wonder he didn't swamp the 14' boat just up from me.He was one of many but def. the fastest. There's got to be something a person can do when they do this short of holeing there boat with a shotgun.I was wondering if there is a law about slowing down when going by anchored boats and if it would do any good to turn there boat numbers into the river patrol or the coast guard.Does any one know ???.I was pulled over by the sheriff last year, because my wake was causeing them a proplem while they forming up for some kind of parade, something about the start of the yachting season ??,I was over three hundred yds away and am driveing an 18' duckworth how much is my wake brothering them when I'm that far away and they pass me anchored going 30 -40 miles an hr,and only 40' away !!!!!,theres got to be something a person can do when there endangering a persons life.Am I p---ed yes I am !! There is NO EXCUSE for this othere then STUPIDITY and could care less attitude.

that has happened to me many times!!, if they make an attempt to move away from me even a little ill look the other way, but when they come between me and the shore, only a 100 feet or so, then i stand up and point away from my boat, some get the message, and some do not, what i hate the most is when they slow down just enough so they are not on a plane anymore and just pushing a ton of water my wat!!.....john

You have to believe that most of these guys are oblivious to the fisher in a small boat. Try calling the Coast Guard and reporting a near sinking and the offenders description and numbers. There is a rule about wakes near anchored boats but I can't quote it to you. I believe the distance is 200 feet.

Can anyone quote this rule?

If the CG checks some of these day sailors out maybe they will score a BUII. Works for me.
