Angry Girl Scout Cookies!!!

I got this yesterday in email from one of my employees:

It’s that time of the year again and there are a couple of us with Girl Scouts with cookies for sale. We’ve decided to split orders evenly, so if you would like to purchase some, Tom has agreed to be the collection point for the orders.

Here are the cookies and I believe they are $4.00 a box (but check with us when you make your order for sure).

Thin Mints: The most enduring and universally familiar Girl Scout cookie. These round, mint-flavored cookies covered with dark chocolate perennially sell the most boxes of any cookie. Thin Mints have never changed their name. Little Brownie Bakers and ABC Bakers both make Thin Mints.

Do-Si-Dos® or Peanut Butter Sandwich: A sandwich cookie. The round, bumpy perforated oatmeal cookie top and bottom surrounds a peanut butter-flavored layer inside. Do-Si-Dos® (formerly Gauchos) are baked by Little Brownie Bakers. ABC Bakers calls them Peanut Butter Sandwiches.

Trefoils or Shortbread: These shortbread cookies are shaped like the Girl Scout Trefoil design. Scot Teas were a similar, lighter sugar cookie made by the now defunct Burry. These cookies come in a blue box. Little Brownie Bakers calls them Trefoils; ABC Bakers call them Shortbread.

Tagalongs® or Peanut Butter Patties®: These are round cookies with a layer of peanut butter on top, and covered in chocolate. These cookies come in a red box. Little Brownie Bakers calls them Tagalongs®; ABC Bakers call them Peanut Butter Patties®.

Samoas® or Caramel deLites®: These are round doughnut-shaped cookies about two inches in diameter with a hole in the center, covered in caramel and toasted coconut, and then striped with chocolate. Samoas® are made by Little Brownie Bakers. The ABC version is called Caramel deLites®.

All Abouts: A shortbread cookie with a layer of chocolate fudge on the bottom and Girl Scout related sayings on the top. All Abouts deliver the exciting and essential messages of the new Girl Scout Leadership Development Model. They come in a pink box, and are made by Little Brownie Bakers.

Thanks-A-Lot™: A shortbread cookie with a layer of fudge on the bottom and the words "Thank You" in English, French, Chinese, Swahili or Spanish embossed on the top. Thanks-A-Lots™ have been made by ABC Bakers since 2006 and were preceded by a similar cookie called the Animal Treasure.

Lemon Chalet Cremes™: New for 2007, they feature a design of Our Chalet in Switzerland. This sandwich cookie has a touch of cinnamon-ginger spice that evokes the warmth of a fireside chat on a snowy evening; they are made by Little Brownie Bakers.

Sugar Free Chocolate Chips: New for 2007, Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Cookies give those who need or prefer sugar free products have a new way to support Girl Scouting—and a scrumptious new snack at bedtime, or any time! They are made by Little Brownie Bakers.

Cinna-Spins™: New for 2007, Cinna-Spins™ make it easy to snack smart by doing the calorie counting for you! Each carton contains five ready-to-grab-and-go 100 calorie packs full of crispy cinnamon swirls; they are made by ABC Bakers.

Lemonades™: Introduced in 2006, these shortbread cookies are stamped in the shape of a sliced lemon with a tangy lemon icing. They are made by ABC Bakers and replace the Lemon Pastry Creme.

My response:

Put the company down for 4 boxes. You and Tom pick.

BTW, I am convinced the Girl Scouts are led by ****** fascists that are trying desperately, and successfully, to increase global girthing.

They come with propaganda at the end of January, weakening all the resoluters who are already pudged by the Holiday insurgency, and slop their coconuttie smell onto the frail. The mere mention of a Macaroon has poor victims quaking, and giving in, priming the internal digestive pumps long before the actual delivery of the weapons of mass destruction. The IEDs that arrive are usually consumed within seconds, and the damage, once done, usually leaves indelible changes to the brain that further facilitates the process of excessive consumption to be repeated again and again…

Make that 6 boxes.

_________

BTW, send me a PM if you would like some.

If my Wife has a couple boxes stashed in the freezer. Man you better be ready to go to war if you decide so foolishly to open a box of those little buggers. Ouch.

I see you've realized their plan. My little angel sold 80 boxes in about two hours on Sunday. People in the 'hood were telling her that they had been waiting for her to show up.

I have two girl scout daughters so don't harass me with complaints of my complaints.

Fund raisers like this have gotten so aggressive and wide spread that most companies have banned all solicitations at office. I used to be in sales and would buy a bunch on my entertainment budget and hand them out to my customers to avoid asking them to buy them. As an office slug these days, I can't even post the sign up sheet.

I have tried multiple times to offer cash to the young solicitors in leiu of any product because I'd rather see $1 go to the youth group than 30 cents of the $2. Most either have been told to refuse the cash donations or don't know how to handle them. In the Girl Scouts defense, the cookies are a pyramid scheme where money goes to each level (local, regional, national and the cookie maker) for each box sold.

Someone, please bring back 1995!

Girl scout cookies are pure evil! I am trying to loose weight and all I can think about is downing a box of Samoas every time I see them out in front of Fred Meyer. When I was in the Marines over seas my Sargent had a little girl back in the states and she was the only girl scout anyone in the platoon knew so she always scored big time because we would do platoon orders. My gunner would seriously order 20+ boxes just by himself every year and I was probably some where near that many and then you add in the other 18 or so guys in the platoon and we are talking one seriously huge order of cookies. Diet or not I am still eating at least two boxes of Samoas this year

The girl scout mothers usually talk me into a couple of boxes in front of Safeway each year. I'm an easy mark!

Those innocent little girls are insurgents for the Evil Empire set on Global Expansion!

Do not be fooled. They are led by a faceless implementor of terror, known generically as "Mom." "Moms" have been known to expand girths in many insidious ways, usually setting traps around Holiday feasts and birthdays. The use of young insurgents is the most ingenious and almost impossible to defend against method.

Besides. Dogs are only entitled to crumbs and expiration of the 10 second rule. 5 doesn't apply.

we have an "Office Rep" all he does is walk down the aisle between the cubes with teh order form in front of him and ...well I just ordered 7 boxes. I'm sure we will get hit elsewhere and so I'm spreading the wealth. I only do orders from people I know because a few years back I put all my commitment $$ into one girls list and then when the day came she FAILED to show. I went a whole year without my GSC fix. they must use a nondetectable mixture of meth and crack in those things!

hmmm...my wife hasn't said anything about girl scout cookies. She is an elementary teacher and always has girl scouts in class that hit her up for cookies. I hope she just brings home a box or two of each of these...Thin Mints, Trefoils, Tagalongs®, Samoas® or Caramel deLites®

Yep, it is a wonderful time of year... unless your a parent

My daughter is selling them right now. Her goal is to pay for her trip to a Jamboree next year in Europe. I hope she sells A LOT!!! It takes a lot of cookies at $3.50 a box to raise $1500.

You know you want some, go support your local Girl Scout

That's only about 430 boxes. Our family could probably account for about 5% of that annual quota. Gotta love those thin mints!
