Default What puts Coho on the bite?

Guys & Gals, with rain predicted for the weekend I have the following question:

1. Is the barometric pressure change associated with rain or the rain itself that stimulates the coho to bite?

2. I can only fish one day this weekend, would it be best on Saturday at the start of the rain? or Sunday after the rain?

When the water is up and somewhat colored do you use larger/flashier spinners & other baits?

Thanks,

Dave

Kilgore:

I haven't seen a recent weather report, but last I heard, we weren't going to get a very appreciable amount of rain. That combined with the very dry ground will not do much for the rivers. Yes they will get some fresh water, but probably not enough to get them up with some good color.

When we finally do get that first really good rain, you will want to switch tactics form the low water approach that you are employing now. Size up your drift geat/spinners according to water clarity. If you are looking for silvers on the bite, do not concentrate your efforts on the slow-moving pools where they are stacked up. You will find much better success if you hit the fast-water riffles and pockets. The biters hide there

About which day to fish........I would go a day or two after the rain hits.

Good Luck,

CnD
