Default SD Convention Raffle/Auction items

This is starting to shape up as some fun folks. I happen to have a couple of the items in hand already. Freakwater has donated a couple of live bait tuna blanks and I matched with the rest of the components. These will be a "his and hers" matched pair, who will build them - that is a secrete. The blanks are e-glass blanks rated at 15-25# and lets just say some identical blanks were used to slay many a tuna on the Rampage and the Dance Floor this last summer.

Lets just say - one of them has a tad more bling than the others, just special for your best first mate

Lets start the bidding early

Who's next?

Ok the wrapper isn't secrete anymore - 2slow has offered to wrap them up. I just have to build the handles first - oh heck its only 10pm.

Can we buy raffle tickets and such if we can't physically be there? What about calling in for the auction?

Call ins for the auction, unlikely. Call your buddy and spend his money, with a promise to pay him back. Still working on the raffle tickets purchsed in absentees. I've heard complaints about this from previous events, goes both ways.

I'll probably get flamed for piping up here. But, IMHO - it should be "must be present to win." Attendees are spending the time, money on attending and money on food and lodging. Personally, I would not be a fan of absentee raffle tickets for this event. The raffle is part of the event itself....again, IMHO.

Fire retardant immersion suit donned.

I would lean in that direction as well, and it's MUCH simpler logistically...no names, phones numbers or post raffle follow up. Keeps a few butts in the their seats too.
