Default Sturgeon Success

A buddy and his daughter along my 2 year old son went out sturgeon fishing yesterday evening. I knew that with a 2 year old, that I might not get too much fishing in, but it was a big success. He had a blast and we caught fish. In the one hour that we we were out there, we caught 6 shakers and a 58" gator! So if you were wondering if they are out there, they are! Go Get Em!

TPN-
We were fishing out of Camas and the best part was, we had that whole side of the river to ourselves.

On Monday we went fishing out of Ridgefield and the fishing was really spotty. We fished 5 different areas and not even a bite but we moved to one hole and found about 30 shakers and 2 43's. Im heading to Camas this afternoon and this is a real big confidence booster.

Way to go Ty!

Was wondering if you had been out lately. Did you see any salmon action at the mouth of the Sandy?

Dave,

There were only a couple of boat above the mouth of the Sandy. Did not see any caught but saw a few salmon jump while we were sitting there.

One of the shakers that we caught had a 6" by 2" gash one side of him. What do you think would have caused this? Seal, Nets ???

Ty,

My guess it was a seal or some sort of waterborne toothy critter. I think a net would have held it until it was dead unless it was roughly handle release by the net owner. Even shakes have some seriously tough skin.
