Default Detroit Reservoir

Tired of salmon that aren't biting? The trout in Detroit lake can cure you of fishlesness. I fished the bank near the dam this morning, landed 3 and lost 2 in the first five minutes I was there, using a silver and blue vibrax spinner. Then the sun hit the water, and they quit hitting the spinner, but continued hitting powerbait two feet off the bottom. Needless to say, it was a very short trip before I limited out on trout. So I hit the North Santiam for steelhead, with no luck there.

seems like the upper end where the Santiam flows in would be really good about now.

Or you could WALK out to the island and fish the channel out there.

Hmmmmmm

SL- yes they are still running 9-11 inches. There are also some 7-8 inch kokanee hitting along with the trout. The bigger kokanee are probably stacking up near the spawning areas.

Phish-On- that's probably where the kokanee are at right now. Maybe I'll check that area out tomorrow. I've been blessed with 4 days off from work, and I'm going to take advantage of it.

Think of me slaving away in front of an Access database while you're fishing.
