I just heard no lights on hwy 99 in Hazel Dell. Major traffic problems.

I am at the Airport and can not see that far North due to clouds. Our meteorologist are looking at forecasts and predictions.

Touch down in Hazel Dell. Girlfriend was home to let the dogs out and said many trees down, consturction debris from development scattered everywhere. She could not get into our neighborhood from the north. Got back out on I-5 and came in from the south. Luckily, it missed my neighborhood. Coworker said he heard that a few homes lost roofs!

78th and HWY 99 is what I here as the beginning of the destruction. Leaving a path of downed trees and power lines. Yes, several traffic accidents, bad traffic. Overturned propane truck near Fred Meyer.

Ya, Girlfriend was at 78 and Fruit Valley and could not go south on FV. Lots of trees down, construction debris and emergency vehicles. I live at 4th Plain and FV and no damage there.

Must have been small-the radio said that it touched down at 78th and Fruit Valley, I was eating lunch at home (1500 block of 80th st) 4 blocks from the touch down and was looking at the storm coming at us. I did not see any funnell and I know what one looks like (Grew up in the Midwest). It looked more like a wall of water, hail, and wind. It did blow hard enough to blow the water into the vent hood exhaust on the roof which dripped about a tablespoon onto the stove. Everyones deck furniture etc. was still in place as far as I could see (In a tornado, your stuff usually is in the next county or atleast a couple blocks away) I guess thats why we wrote our name and number on our trash cans in Illinois! Anyway, On the way back to work, there was a tree down on Fruit Valley Rd. (looked like about a 12 inch diameter ( not a swath of trees like a tornado or st. helens) This could have been cut up in about 10 minutes with a good blade! There was a dozen taxpayer paid vehicles circling it, deciding what to do! I'm not sayin there wasn't one but I'm thinkin I should have, maybe I blinked. I did notice what a nightmare it is when people don't have red and green to drive by. We should give more training on that whole concept!!!!

I put in down at Langdorfs this morning about 11:30. I was going to run up to Kelly point and fish. I was just putting along because the rain was pelting my face, when I got to the top of Caterpiller island a lighting bolt hit near one of the ships, I just spun around and headed back to the ramp and I hit the worst hail storm Iv'e seen in a long time. That was one of the scariest trips on the river Iv'e had. I was in Fishermans about 10:30 getting my new lic. and I heard the emergancy warning on the radio, I just thought it was a test I couldn't hear what they were saying.

Went by 2 blocks from me. Lotsa hail, continuous thunder and a roar for about 30 seconds. Very minor damage in Hazel Dell. F-0 tornado.

Nothing like the F-3 of 1972.

edit --- now they are saying F-1 to F-2.

Wife works near Izzy's on 78th street, saw it touch down just east of her (quite a ways from 78th street and fruit valley). Her building is damaged, cracked walls, roof damaged--water streaming in. Flying metal pieces of building hit her car causing damage. This event is not what croation described, it is much more widespread, and significantly more damage.

Angry Re: Tornado Warning Vancouver Wa

Wow... JCMD, C&E, etc... It's nice that you guys can see the humor in a natural disaster affecting a large group of people in Clark County. I know... It isn't your house that got hit so you can make a joke of it. Very nice...

To those of you who sustained damage, I feel for you. My house was spared but not by a lot. There is some minor damage in my neighborhood but nothing like what is being broadcast on the news in Hazel Dell.

Only lightning, a little hail, and lots of rain at my house.

Yeah that "young girl is missing" statment is hillarious after a serious natural disaster.

Let's not get over sensitive about all this. It was in jest and nothing more than that so please don't make it more than that.

That said, perhaps it was tacky and irreverant and I appologize for my infraction. Not meant to be malicious or unfeeling. Anyone that sustained damage due to this has my sincere appologies IF I offended them. Someone out there has been terribly affected by this occurance and I know good people are there to help them.

Thanks for pointing this out Steve and Mitch. Hopefully you have never made a mistake like this in your past and are without conviction. Next time just handle in a PM and I would gladly remove an offending post. Nicely done boys.

Looks from here like the 16 well timed joke posts were meant to stop communication during an emergency to me.

Oh and you better lump Jennie in with us unfeeling folks to Mitch and Steve. Seems she made a little light of this too.

I'm done with this one, flame away oh you that are so righteous.
