Default Follow this Fly to the fish!

Joe (Superfly) took Doug (FH5) and I to float a zipperlip section of an Oly Pen river today and it was flat out thick with bright silvers and greyish 'nooks. And only 3 other boats were in the same area! Thanks Joe! We landed well into double figures of big fish and lost many too. We only kept some hens (pictured below), releasing most of the fish. After a couple of slower than expected trips recently, this was like fishing in B.C. today. ...

BTW, for you F III Waaaaasie's, I landed and released a would be limit of salmon before the 2 Dawgs started hooking fish. That must have been an 'OR' omen for the Floatilla. ...

I can't say where this was but you could probably find out by booking a guided trip with Joe and promising not to reveal the location. Thanks much again 'Fly.

Yeah he is due for a bath, I tried to get him into the river yesterday, but he just would not do it. He said he was waiting to get lucky before he bathed. I told him that if goats counted that would be the only thing he could hook up with, then at least he could bathe again!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I'm still bathing once a week SL - in the tub/shower, not the river. If I was on a semi-annual schedule like you, the flies would be following me, not the other way around as stated.

Edit: I forgot about your question above Frogwater. They are biting better in NW Wash rivers of the Oly Pen and also Northern Cascades. It's because in this yet another warm fall drought so far our coastal river's water gets much less flow and warms up to higher temperatures that can put many of the fish off the bite; or keep them literaly and figuratively 'at bay'. Many of the NW Wash rivers get glacial runoff from much higher mountain peaks and/or cooler water from high elevation sourced spring water. The higher flow and cooler water makes for much better biting conditions; when the Indian nets are out long enough anyway. With that said, the fishing would still get much better up there if the fall rains would happen - just not too much at a time. Same in Oregon, just more so.

Hey Steve, bass is spelled with 4 letters . I can think of several words that might fit with 4, 5, 7, and 8 letters. But what is that 6 letter word (******)? I'm flumexed. (no, I don't know what that 8 letter word means - I heard my Grandpa say it once and Gramma didn't slap him so I figure it's OK)

RT, I think Steve S was trying to spell..."Crappie"...or maybe "******". I think that's what he was referring to anyway.
