Default Sandy produces!!!

My son had a football game out at Sandy high school on saturday. (they won) I thought I'd bring my rod with me and try the Sandy river while I was out that way. The pipe line hole had fish rolling so I started throwing spinners. A big fat 20lb. Chinook took a spinner. What a suprise. Stopped fishing after that so I could carry that brute out. Two of those would have required two trips to carry them out. That was 2:00 in the afternoon. I told a couple and their kid that fish dont normally bite that time of day. Then that nook made me a liar. I had really gone down there for coho. What a fight with 12lb. test line. Anybody else doing any good on the sandy? ............Fishhead Vic

Hey fishhead!

How did the water look when you were out? Was it milky or clearing up? Also, was the fish you caught a fall fish or a late springer do you think? I have a buddy who lives up marsh Rd. and has been getting a lot of coho out of his hole. Way to go and thanks for the report!

SRF, the sandy was cloudy, good cover in shallow water. As far as I know there werent any signs saying dont go down this trail. Along the sides were signs but I took that as to mean dont go through the woods or on the property behind the signs. I stuck to the trail and fished under the bridge. Like I said there was a couple and their son down there at the same time I was. I followed them all the way in from the parking lot. I didnt go down there to trespass. Just to fish. They were there going for a hike. If the girlscouts want it closed then they should put a sign up at the parking lot letting you know that its closed down there. I've fished down there for twenty years with friends of mine and they dont go by the signs. We're just dumb fishhermen for crying out loud. Its a sad day when you cant enjoy what you love the most. Good luck out there.........Fishhead Vic
