Default Hand Carved decoys

I was wondering if any of you guys carve your own decoys? I have been kicking the Idea around for a while and was wondering what types of wood everyone out thier uses. Or where do you start?

Sure we have some carvers on here.
But at $19/doz for GHG's I won't be carving any for hunting over....they'd go on my mantle or be good luck charms in my spead.

Do a search on "Hank & Howard" Marshbum & Royal Limit carved them.

I buy my own blank foam bodies and heads, then wrap them with burlap and tile mastic. Then I paint em

Seems to fool a few birds each season.
