Default Those who own Swarovski

Are you happy with the model you bought? I mean. Do regret the power choice or the objective or style? Right now I'm leaning towards a pair of 10x42 slc. From what info I can gather. There is no optical difference between them and the els. Regardless the slc feels better in MY hands. So I'm leaning that direction. The other pair I'm considering are the 10x50. Just concerned that they will be too much weight. I do use a bino buddy, but even then 40oz is a good sized bino.

What's your opinion?

Thanks
Kris

I have 10x42 slc the newer models were not out when I got mine. The are good glass but I don't think I would like any more weight. Lighter might be nice, but I'm happy with them. My friends like them, because they can make fun of me for spending so much money on bino's

I have had a pair of the 10x25 pockets for almost 10 years, I bought a pair of the 10x42 EL a couple years ago and love them, I went to buy the SLC because they were cheaper but when I had them side by side there was a huge difference in the weight, definitley worth the extra money in my opinion. They are the best glass I have ever looked through, I have 2 of their rifle scopes as well....good luck! you get what you pay for!

I have the 10x42s slc and I love them. I just bought the winged eye cups and they are also great. I will never own anything else.

I bought the 10x42 EL's this past year and am very pleased with my purchase. I debated the price and worth for years before actually buying them. I am glad I finally did it, you won't be disappointed with your choice.

I got the 10X42 El's as well. Personally I love the feel over the Sl's. They fit nice in the hands. I bet there is not much optical difference but the EL's have a better design.

If money wasnt an option I would have the EL's, but since it was a stretch for me to afford them in the first place, I got the SLC's. No regrets on the swari purchase though.

I think the SLC's are comfy in the hands when glassing, the 42 ounces helps me hold the 10x50's steady when glassing on a cold morning, but you definately need top of the line bino buddies for packing.

Would do it again in a heartbeat.

I've got the 10x42 EL's, with a doubler, and the 20-60x80 ATS spotting scope. The binos have more than doubled in price since I bought them! That's as good as you can do in the stock market, and you have the benefit of using the best glass available while you hold the asset for "investment purposes"

Do you think the extra light gathering ability of the 50mm objective over the 42mm is worth packing the extra weight? Strictly slc. I've got buddies with 30mm and 42mm swaro, but I've never looked through the 50mm out in the field. I'm so impressed with the other two that I can only imagine the 50mm will be absolutely amazing.

I appreciate your input.

I have a pair of SLC's in the 10x50. I haven't had the ability to look outside the store and see the differ between the 42's and the 50's.
However, I did feel the that extra 30 oz. for the 10x50's was worth it.

Good optics are essential.

I've packed the 10x42 SLC's for four years now and recently my wife bought me a pair of 10x50's and the weight difference is really large when comparing the two. For my bowhunting adventures I'll still pack the x42's and longer range rifle hunting or heavy glassing areas the x50's seem to be the ticket. It just depends on what you do the most. One thing though, the slc's and el's are exactly the same glass. If you don't believe me, do some research on thier website and compare the testing information. The el's are merely 2.5 oz. lighter. Nice way to charge a few extra bucks, but some people like the feel. To each thier own.

I have the 10x32 ELs - while I am the minority here, I find they fit my hands like gloves and are not tiring to hold without binobuddies. I mostly use them to glass waterfowl. I started off with the 10x42 SLCs for the above reasons ($), but found them too heavy in just one trip. The 42ELs are a bit lighter, but the 32EL is an all day binoc even for a person with early neck arthritis like me. They easily ID ducks on the water in pre-shoot hours where my eyes can only make out an outline...I'm not dissapointed in either their light gathering ability or the detailed views of each feather's vanes. My only gripe is the lens caps don't stay on very well and the plastic neckstrap grommet covers cracked quickly. Replacement with a quality camera strap (or BB's) would be a fine ideaer.
