Thumbs up Sleep study follow up

Went in Thur night for my sleep study. I was lucky. They were able to do a split study for me. I slept long enough for them to get all the info they needed. The teck came in and said I've seen enough and put the nose mask on me, it was cnnected to a humidifier. Wow I actually slep 6+ hrs. in a bed and not the sofa. Looking forward to getting the unit.

Just remember when you get it, it will feel weird for the first couple of weeks. Don't give up, keep wearing it and you will greatly appreciate it.

One tip also, don't strap the mask on too tight, some of our patients just latch that thing down and it actually doesn't work as well if its too tight. It should be snug, but you should not be sore or have big red marks when you get up.

I go in for my sleep study on 12/27, but according to the nocturnal oximetry test that was already done, I am having ~12 sleep disturbances per hour, with my heart rate jumping up and down all night and my blood/oxygen level dropping as low as 70%. The doctor said that they will do the split study for me also. I hope this solves the medical problems I have been plagued with for almost six months.

Same here. I didn't last but a couple hours and they put the mask on me. The technician said once I fell asleep with the mask on I didn't budge an inch. No tossing or turning.

I probably know the guy that did the overnight pulse oximetry test on you. I work for the same company but up in the Salem area. The sleep study will be a far more accurate reading of how your body is doing while it is at rest. Hope you get a good night sleep down there and that the CPAP will help!

Try the nasal pillows as an alternative to the mask. I prefer them myself.

Good luck,
