What are you giving for Christmas?
I can't think of a single thing to get my wife for Christmas. What are you getting yours, or what gifts have you gotten your wife/girlfriend that made her happiest?

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
I'm sure this is going to be a very watched thread as we close in on the last few shopping days.
Hopefully our wives/partners/girlfriends, etc... don't hangout on ifish.:Christmas:

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
So far this year she has already gotten a boat, some avet reels, a couple Penn 113's, some clones and I even crimped up a batch of no excuse Halibut rigs, I can't imagine her wanting more. I might get myself some new pillows and a down comforter etc. You know: so I can sleep good before heading to the coast. I was also thinking about some boat wax for her but that might be pushin a good thing.

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
She wants new furniture and a new refridgerator. She seems to think that means I want new furniture and a new reefer as well.
She doesn't realize it yet,but what she really wants is a set of disc brakes for my boat trailer.

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
It looks like pennys and Macys have some pretty good sales going on for girl stuff. Avet: I think it's safe to say that We won't be running into you at pennys or Macys.

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
I got my wife an iPod Shuffle (she asked for one). And a gift certificicate to iToons.
I guess people don’t buy CDs anymore? Now you have to download and upload and file transfer, and everything else to listen to music anymore. I just stick to my AM radio.
Last year I got her a G-Loomis 4wt fly rod, and she LOVES it. It came as a kit, the reel and line weren’t the best, but the rod is half decent.

Depends on how long you have been dating. Being a father of two young ladies - If you have gotten to this point - asking me for their hands will be a whole lot easier than the application process for the first date.
Good luck

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
If your family is like ours, we take lots of digital pictures that just seem to never make it either out of the camera or off the computer.
I got my wife a digital picture frame... I am picking some of my favorite pictures from the last few years and pre-loading it ... she can put it on her desk at work.

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
A roof over her head, all my chores done, and a nice meal on the day. She knows we can't afford anymore than that this year and she will be happy with it.
Maybe you should take her caroling then out to serve dinner in a soup kitchen or food bank. If that doesn't sound right try researching groups that make micro loans and donating to one of them in her name.
worse comes to worse go to pajamagram.com and see what you like.
Merry Christmas.

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
3 nights at her favorite coastal getaway, several gift cards for clothes joints and a round trip airplane ticket to go visit our 6 nieces in memphis sometime in the coming year.
It's everything she asked for! Now if she can only deliver on the one thing I asked for. Of course a 37 Billfish is a bit harder to find but one can dream...

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
What I hate about the exchanging presents is while my wife and I agree not to exchange gifts Xmas morning have about five minutes of guilt to deal with because she didn't keep her end of the agreement.....
OH honey you shouldn't have...
A better question to me would be,
What do you do on Christmas day to bring out the Christmas spirit besides exchanging presents ?
My answer: Be kind, loving, show everyone how much you appreciate
them being with you and stay sober...

Firedog, have you been married long? Here is a hint for you - unless you want to end up like me - never buy your wife a gift that has a motor in it unless it comes with a set of keys and insurance

Re: What are you giving for Christmas?
She's getting a vintage Ambassaduer 2500c NOS, some decoys, a Rip Tide Minn Kota and some owner hooks.
Probably also throw a little Victoria's Secret in her stocking for my enjoyment!

Trust me she will love the Dyson. I am old enough to know better but she is a clean freak and will like the dyson more than the pearls.
