I'm thinking I should stop winterizing my boat and keep it ready to go at all times - even in the winter. That looks beautiful!!!

I'll take one of those please. 2007 continues to be an exceptional year. Nice weather in December.

Chromoflage ... you can freeze proof your boat and still leave it ready to use.

I'm keeping my old girl outside this winter. I drained the freshwater system and refilled it with the RV pink antifreeze. Then just run it through every line until the water comes out pink. Make sure you drain your washdown pump lines and any fresh water on your engine.

Tip the outdrive or outboard down to allow the water to run out of it.

This is working pretty good for me.

John - the anifreeze thing came up in a conversation I had with my neighbor. So do you run antifreeze in through your raw water pump? Like putting your outdrive in a tub of anti-freeze and run it through the exhaust manifolds? Rather than pulling the plugs on the manifolds?

Oops I read what I typed and it is confusing, sorry.

Two different things. I drive a boater home so the freshwater system I mentioned first is the sinks and running water on the boat. That I antifreeze and leave till May.

On the engine if you have a heat exchanger then the motor has antifreeze in it just like a car engine. But the raw water side does not. So you either drain it like I do or you can use the antifreeze you drained when you changed your car and boat antifreeze for winter service. If I was storing for the winter I would run the engine on the garden hose until it was warmed up and then use a bucket and the used antifreeze and let the motor run that through till it come out the prop or exhaust. I just got a hose thread male fitting and put it in the bottom of a fiver and run a hose to the mickey mouse ears and hang the bucket up high before you fill it.

And that completes thread hijack 101. Sorry, nice picture by the way.
