Best Price on Benelli
To make a long story short, intermitant bouts with my current gun got me into a few stores Friday night looking at waterfowl guns.
I really like the Benelli action and don't shoot 3.5" shells, Stoeger didn't feel right in the hand and so I decided on a M2...
But I didn't buy it. Mama always said, "if you want it today, you will still want it tomorrow, sleep on it!"
Sportsmans was the only shop I visited that had the configuration I wanted in stock. Joes, Fishermans, Sportsmans and NW Armory were all right at the $1050 mark for the black. After a long conversation with the "salesman" at FMS, he had me convinced that the Benelli's were a set price, similar to a Gloomis rod. The manufacturer sets that price and no one can under sell the other. Similar story from Joes, SW and NWA.
As it turns out, that is a hock of poo.
One call to Kieth's and the price was down $100. Yep, no haggle, no hesitation, just plain cheaper.
I've got my standby working great now, and haven't decided to "pull the trigger" on a new one yet, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Heck, I can almost buy a box of Hevi Shot with the money I'll save.

Re: Best Price on Benelli
You might try Bi-Mart. They will probably have to order it, but they havent bean beat on price on a gun I've bought in the last 5 years or so.

Re: Best Price on Benelli
Bimart is usually the cheapest on guns that they stock, like the Nova. And Bimarts guns often go on sale too. But unless its a stock item you are going to have a hard time beating Keiths prices. I used to call all over town to find the best price and haven't yet found anybody to beat Keith. Some places will have the same price but Keiths was consistantly the lowest. They do cost plus 10% where most guys do cost plus 20%. I've bought from them a lot over the past couple years and can even say the few problems that did come up were quickly resolved. And for the record I don't work for or know anybody that does work for keiths, I've just been very happy with there service.

Re: Best Price on Benelli
Keiths is really cheap for handguns, doesn't surprise me that they're the same for shotguns.
The bi-mart thing doesn't surprise me. They don't carry anything high end for guns. I bought my 11-87 there a few years ago. It was $479 on sale and the most expensive gun they had at the time. If you want the best price on a ruger, remington, or savage then head to bi-mart.
I love bi-mart by the way, not trying to say anythign bad about them at all. Higher end jsut isn't there thing.

Re: Best Price on Benelli
The M2 is a great gun. I got my SBE from NW Armory and they were the least expensive at the time.
Just for kicks, I would call Cabela's gun room up at the new store to see if they have any 'experienced' M2's or SBE's. You might find a better deal on a slightly used gun. If you can save a couple hundred, it would certainly cover the gas.

My answer would be No! Because I'm going hunting tomorrow! Careful how you say it though, you could find your self hunting for another address, instead of ducks!

Odd!!! I've ordered a few rifles and shotguns, bought a few off the shelf, and priced dozens at Bi-Mart over the years. They just have a standard percentage they mark up from the Dealer Book price on every gun I've ever bought or priced. They just look it up right there with you looking too. Then they grab the calculator and talley the price. Dont remembe the percetage of markup though. One could call and ask.
It probably has something to do with if they have it in the distribution warehouse, or if they have to order it from the manufacturer.
I bought my Beneli there.
But...... I've never bean to Kieth's so maybe I've bean spending too much.
