Default Coyote Pup at Salmon Creek?

I was lucky enough to have my Camera to capture this guy at the Salmon Creek Greenway this morning. Just about as big as the Blue Heeler that was with me...

It Was actually about 30 feet away from me, and it kept a pretty good eye on me. People were walking by and he was cool with that, but once he knew I saw him, he got pretty wary in a hurry. I was zoomed out to 12x and cropped the photo pretty good to get that shot and about 3 others before he bolted.

Unvaccinated canines spread rabies ,parvo ,distemper , and parasites ...
When they are done decimating the small game in the area, then they will begin to prey on the domestic variety ... Small dogs , cats , chickens , rabbits , lambs , calves ect...

How many more reasons do you want ...Barney

Decimated? Let's see some examples.

I say fiddlesticks.

Cars and trucks do more damage to the small game in an urban area than that coyote pup ever will.

Of course they might go after a domestic pet or two but is that really an epidemic?

I hunt coyotes in NEO during the Winter months, I don't have a problem shooting them where it's needed.

I have access to a large tract of private land(family) for hunting, but guess what?, my rancher relatives actually like the coyotes and they are NOT to be shot on their property by anyone. They do take one out from time to time if they come down and pester the domestic pets but it's not really a big issue.

In 35 years they have lost three calves total to predation.

I hunt predators on a regular basis druing the Winter months so you can't write me off as a bunny/wolf/yote'/cougar hugger.

It just bugs me to no end when someone like Herring Impaired puts a pic up of a coyote in an urban area and the best he gets for a cool picture is "kill it".

Kill it!

The time I spent away from NEO living on the Westside taught me to appreciate seeing wild critters surviving in yuppieville.

I'm hoping to whack a few coyotes this weekend but I'm also cheering for that little guy at Salmon Creek.

Go dude!

He was the only one I saw....

It is too bad we can't learn to co-habit with what I view as a fairly harmless animal, but I was much more disturbed with the Yacolt Parrots thread.

Lucky for the "Yote", Discharging firearms in the Salmon Creek Greenway is prohibited...

Young ones make the best coats. 30 yards, you could just use a shotgun and have an easy kill.
