Can you get through to Valsetz?

I'd like to put in a last weekend looking for elk or deer.

I was hunting up there during the second season rifle and it was all open. They have changed a law which prohibits being on their roads one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset. Several guys were being sited for getting up there to early and late. If you do connect with something and it is getting late you will have to pack it out the next day. They have it posted pretty well.

I was more concerned with trees accross the roads situation than legal access, I guess I should have been more specific.

Are the roads passable or would I need a chainsaw?

I would imagine the mainline is wide open as far as trees.... going off on side systems will vary based on activity in those areas by the private timber companies. You're probably ahead by carrying a chainsaw in my mind.

I was up there yesterday and we had no trouble getting around, Also the roads were only closed through the last gun season. As far as we could tell unless the gate was across the roads a lot of the side roads were open. Good luck. We saw lots of deer just could not get a shot.
