Exclamation WTB A rod holder for plunking...

Anyone have an extra they would sell me? I would like something that will work for different length poles (say 8.5' to 13') and different environments (sand to dirt/rock). I'm in Portland will travel ~15 miles.

How much do you want to spend? I know of a couple sporting goods stores that sell them. I also make my own.

Make one. A piece of PVC, piece of rebar(or whatever you want use as a stake) and a couple hose clamps.

Hey, probably about $20 tops but I guess it depends. Tell me more about what you make, pics?
Thanks,
Chris

I went to Home Depot and made one for about $6. I used a concrete stake, a piece of PVC, PVC cap, and a couple of hose clamps. Another thing that works well in the sand is a piece of PVC and cut the bottom at a slant so it goes in the ground easier.

I think Joe's has them too for around $20.

Good luck!

Yeah I've made a couple but they usually end up having the pvc break or the rod bend or other issues by the end of the season. What I am looking for is something more heavy duty that has some welds, that will work for both sand and firmer terrain. Thanks for the advise. I'll figure something out.

Hey Chris,
I can make anything as fancy or as simple as wanted. I have used a piece of angle iron and pvc and a bolt. Used it in the rocks up at Bonneville and on the sand at Sauvie Island. My brother-in-law is a welder and has his own shop. I can make adjustable ones etc....The ones at Bob's in Longview are pretty heavy duty and range from $20-$40.00. I have stuff laying around to make them for free.

CF:

I have one that I bought at Fishermans a few years back.

Never use it.

You can have it.

PM me.
