Where is Sand Island?

I was checking my river atlas for sand island and the only two I could find were down at the mouth of the Columbia. I've heard rumors of one in the St. Helens area. Hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Launch at St. Helens Marina and Sand Island is directly out in front of the marina...can't miss it!! Or with you being from Vancouver, launch at Ridgefield and run down the channel until you get to the CR. It's about a 2 mile downriver run to St. Helens from there. You can't miss Sand Island right out in front of the Marina.

Thank you jokester! I knew it was close by but for some reason it wasn't listed on my atlas. I've probably trolled and anchored by it without knowing it. Thanks again.

Rumor has it Sand Island is no longer there. Guess you will have to look some where else..........Chris

I'm thinking that we should arrange a Sand Island "Flotilla" Yep..Let's see if we can get all what..7000 Ifish people to show up on the same day..or why not as often as they can throughout springer season.....What a great idea...Wow Boedy...i almost thought it didn't really exist. Every fish i catch this year is gonna be at " SAND ISLAND".
