Default Introduction

Hello, my name is Ken, and Fish control my brain.

Apparently it is customary to do an intro on this wonderful site, so here goes...

Currently living in Fort Lauderdale,FL. Probably headed to the Northwest in the spring. Stories like this usually start with " Well there is this girl I know, and I like her alot" you know the rest. So to the complete other side of the continent I will go.

Florida is nice. Fishing year round (for the most part) is great...I'll probably be 6 miles off Saturday trolling for anything that bites. However being surrounded by nearly 5 Million neighbors in three counties, is getting old. Fort Lauderdale/Miami/ West Palm Beach is quickly turning into Los Angeles.

I hope to meet and fish with some of you. I will be as green as can be, but maybe bring a little Southern Style of fishing knowledge with me.

Thanks....and fish really do control my brain...

Welcome to Ifish. You'll like it here. We don't have hurricanes like in Florida (joke intended). You'll know you've made it here when you're Steelhead fishing and your line has ice on it.

Fish year round here too. Bit chilly for 3 or 4 of those months though.

You will! Lots and lots of freindly Ifisher folks will glady help 'learn ya' fishing in cold water.

Welcome to Ifish Ken. Tell us what fish are there in those warm, salty waters off Florida.

Thanks everyone. Not afraid of the cold, born and raised in the Northeast. Too expensive, and crowded here.

As for offshore this time of year, the sailfish sould be showing up in pretty decent numbers. A few Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi) making their way back south. Wreck fishing for grouper and snapper is usually pretty good. Swordfishing here has really gotten good the last few years. Fishing down here is great, but when you are competing with thousands of other boats, it's not as much fun.
