Default Astoria area boat launches?

After reading Marty Peterson's report, I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the East Mooring Basin that he mentioned. If so, is it a long run to the Astoria Bridge area? Any other insight would be appreciated.

The East Boat basin is maybe a mile east of the bridge. Good ramp and ok parking if you get there early. I suspect it’s not too busy this time of year. I launch there earlier in the summer when chasing sturgeon.

There is a way to run across Taylor sands to the WA side of the bridge but it is narrow and crooked and there is serious danger of running aground unless you have someone on board who knows the route.
