Default Drifting: Hooks and line question

Managed to find myself a good hole on the lewis, having a hard time landing fish though. This particular spot requires casting a very long distance in order to get to a deeper pool where the fish run. Hooked into 5 fish, they all ran straight at me, jumped and tossed the hook. Due to line stretch I was unable to get a solid hookset especially with them running at me. Does anyone have any tips on 10-15 pound mono thats stretch resistant? Any suggestions on good hooks for drifting that come sharp and retain sharpness?

15lb Izorline Platinum. Wet the knot well before cinching. Straight Money. Broke into the 40lb club amidst all the turmoil on the 11th.

3/0 Vision Hooks are what I run. Come out of the package sharp, and they can easily be re-sharpened. I only used 2 hooks for the day and landed 4 kings in the 2 hours we were fishing. Hook becomes dull, just pop a sharpener on it once or twice. Great inexpensive hooks that are strong and sharp.

I have used both Spiderwire and fireline. Absolutely zero stretch - its like connecting the rod tip directly to the fish's lips. I have the opposite issue with these lines though - with no stretch, i have broken the mono leaders when i rear back - due to too much strain.

I'm assuming you're talking about the North Fork for silvers, Luthian? I have found a couple good, uncrowded spots on there, but also have yet to land a fish.

Out of respect to the fish, I will not post where, but you can email me. I don't want to say where and then have a bunch of people kicking chinook back into the water or bonking chinook that are not to be kept.

Nope. Wasn't there. Although if ya know me, you know where. The fish are dark, and only 1 out of 4 fish could remotely be considered a smoker. I just like to fish, screw the eating part.
