Flags
Everyone should go out a get an American Flag. Fly these flags proudly to show our support and the fact that we as americans stick together and get stronger in times of crisis.
I went out and bought two small ones today to mount on our fire engine tomorrow when I get to work, the city said before that we werent supposed to attach things even flags to our rigs but that is two bad because tomorrow there will be two american flags mounted to our engine and flying proudly.I think the city will understand.
One last thing. Dont discriminate against someone because of there race or relegious beliefs those that did this are a very select minority and shouldnt be confused with the good upstanding arabs and others from the middle eastern countries that are here in the US. I am just as up set as anyone over this and just as ready for the US to go in and take whatever measures needed to eliminate the threat from terrorists.

Re: Flags
just put mine up..Waving in the warm late summer breeze, I just had to stop and look at when I put it up.
Looking at it made me feel proud and mad at the same time. At that point I just needed to hug my wife and hold my kids.

Re: Flags
Both of our family cars are adorned. Good point about Arab American citizens being left alone. They feel awful I am sure. It's very obvious why they left their country of origin.

Re: Flags
I was torn by this one at work today. Got the official message to fly the Ensign at Half-Mast. I was always taught that we would never lower the Ensign in the face of the Enemy. After we performed colors, a "lively" debate ensued over this. (MY PERSONAL opinion was that she should "fly-HIGH", until such time as we make sure Timmy has company). BY NO MEANS does this mean forgetting the victims, rather affirming our resolve to root out the Vermin. OFFICIALY....the flag is at half-mast.
( Taliban announced they would consider turning over bin-Laden if we provided PROOF. I think it is SO IMPORTANT to resolve this quickly, that I think we should provide it via airmail. Anyone got some Duct tape to put Osama's picture on the nose of a Tomahawk cruise missle??)
One more, and this really troubles me. Reports are coming in about vigilante attacks against Muslims in America. This MAKES ME SICK!!!! At a time that WE NEED to reach for higher ground, some want to wallow with the pigs. %99.99 of folks from Middle Eastern countries that make this country their home are our friends and neighbors...and they are feeling the SAME shock and disbelief. Regardless of tragedy, we must remain FREE, and a beacon of hope. They came to AMERICA because THEY were FED UP, TOO!!! Just a peice of Jerky to chew on......

Re: Flags
To treat one bad because of their nationality is wrong on many levels. By htta I mean pick on or harass innocent people of the group which is causing the problem.
I learned something very important in ethics earlier this year which I think is very important and would like to share it with everyone. The teacher would be really impressed I rembered this to.
Do not act in prejuidice towards the minority. That is because it sets a terrible precedence. You yourseld will be the minority some day. Being in the minority does not have to be racial. It can be a set of beliefs or even pastimes. This could mean that if you pass rules to punish all of some minority group some day they make take your right to fish and hunt away.

Re: Flags
Old Glory flies every day at my home except in inclimate weather.
And i agree with the other posts. Lets dont condem those who are not white of skin. That happened during the 2nd world war and the U.S. locked up and detained many japaneese who were loyal american citizens. Lets go slow and get the ones responsible but lets really get em. Iam talking total extinction to those cowardly b------s.

Re: Flags
I have made a couple trips to various parts of British Columbia, and every time was struck by something... a LOT of people up there fly the Canadian flag. What an unbelievable country to be so patriotic. Then I come home, and struggle to see a flag anywhere (i am guilty of this too). My fiance got a flag for our house today, and it will proudly hang tonight.
God (yes, I said God...I am tired of our country being so afraid of recognizing Him in public speech, places, etc) Bless America!!!!
