BCS....what a crock

The BCS is terrible. A team (Ohio State) that hasn't played in 3 weeks is in the title game. The other team (LSU) has 2 losses.

Missouri,who was #1 yesterday,doesn't even get a BCS bowl game.

I'm not even watching the bowls this year.

When will the NCAA realize they need a playoff system to determine a national champion. The playoff system works for the NFL, why not for the NCAA? Someone needs to unplug the computer.

It's all about which team draws fan support to the bowls! This year is prime example why playoffs would not work. Top teams get knocked off by some mid road team who happen to get up for one game all year.

BCS was made by BCS conferences. Who would you think should be in the championship instead? LSU has two losses if you count the 6 overtimes. They were undefeated in regulation time.

For once, I think the 1 and 2 picks are right. I hate that Ohio is there, but everyone else disqualified themselves.

Missouri wasn't even in their game against Oklahoma. I think you should have to show up for your conference championship game if you want to be in a BCS game.

I don't know why they have it for basketball but not football. There are big time upsets for basketball! I think it makes it more interesting that way. It's not likely that they would end up making it to the big show anyway but still it's fun to see. If you really stop and think about the BCS it all about the BENJAMINS $$$$$!!

I say let the best teams go to the play offs or to the bowl games. As you can tell I am not into college ball, but I remember another team was given a bigger bowl game even though our mallards or nutrias had a better winning percentage. That is just not right!

I hate the BCS, personally i think its bunk.....however, i don't have any problems with Ohio State v. LSU for the title.......Ohio state only had 1 loss and they won there conference....only BSC school to claim that. You could make an arguement for LSU, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and USC for the second spot, the problem is under this system you can only choose 1. Personally i liked Oklahoma for it but....there credentials are the same as LSU basically....V tech lost to LSU so that hurt them, and USC.....They may be the best team right now but they really screwed the pooch this year...........Georgia and Kansas got screwed the most by the polls, everyone jumped over them and they were idle....but thats the way it goes. The biggest surprise to me was that Missouri did not get a BCS bowl did, but kansas did. Oh yeah, and GO HAWAII

What really sucks is that USC plays a 9-3 Illinois team in a BCS Bowl and Michigan plays in the Capital One bowl on New Years day and they get a $4.25 million pay out. Three teams from a very weak Big 10 Playing on New Years day.

Arguing over who is number one, is what college football is all about! It keeps most of us entertained during the season. A playoff system would ruin that. We have weeks and weeks of enjoyment watching the top five get knocked off. With a playoff, we'll lose that excitement.

They made a big mistake when they started down this BCS path. Playoffs are inevitable now. It will cheapen the conference championships and erode the bowl system. Soon you will see the artificial Rose Bowl Parade....

No team or fan base is going to spend a week at a bowl site, if they think or know they are going to have another game across the country next week.

I agree. The BCS should be more like BSC. Some of the selections were totally bogus. How did unbeaten Hawaii get stuck with a crap bowl like that?

The Pac 10 didn't get hosed. They have no one to blame but themselves. As I recall the PAC 10 negogiated their stinky TV contract and their bowl alliances. They're trying to improve it, but the Pac 10 is responsible for their own misery.

The NCAA is just a practice league for folks wanting to get to the NFL anyways, so it came as no surprise to me that bowl games are once again scheduled for entertainment value over actual competition.

To much money in the bowls to take them away. But a plus two system could work but that will be a ways down the road. Instead of 6 or 8 teams on the outside looking in there would only be 3 or 4 teams looking in.

Is that not the whole point of playoffs? So the little guy has a chance? If you are a national championship caliber team, there should be no issue beating a mid road team - even if they get up for the game. If you can't do that, then you don't deserve a shot.

Hence why is LSU there??? There two loses are to unranked teams. Oh wait, a Lousiana team in a championship game being played in Lousiana ... it all makes sense now, more money.

Like I have seen a couple of times earlier, no on will get away for the bowl system because of the money. Conferences make too much from bowl games to go to a playoff system that would not have near the sponship and tv dollars that the bowl system has.

Footballs a rough game. I'm not sure how successful a playoff system would be. Besides these kids should be studying and getting an education. Wan't a playoff system, watch the NFL.

Georgia was 4 coming into the last weekend. So, aren't they playing number 2?

Seriously though, the Hawaii coach, unless he's posturing, doesn't think he matches well against Georgia. If you heard the interview, he was worried about UW.

I expect a blowout. Hawaii looked like a high school team compared to UW. It won't be any better against Georgia except Georgia is at the top of their game!

Keep in mind that Georgia is not Oklahoma of last year. WAC will get Wacked!

Um, Division 2 and 3 teams have had a playoff system in place for years.

This year really shows how bad the BCS system is. There are a handfull of teams that would hand Ohio State their lunch and LSU barely survived against Auburn. Totally Lame national championship this year!!
