Default Nehalem report

In case anybody is interested the Nehalem is very very slow. Fished it Mon and Tue and managed to boat one nice nook. Only had one other takedown. Saw maybe 8 fish caught in the two days and they were a mixed bag of nooks and coho. Heard one went 48 lbs. There were about 20 boats out at the jaws and some ventured across but it was rough and most stayed just inside. The river was so clear you could see down to the bottom at a distance of about 12 ft. There was a lot of bait fish in and the gulls were having a feast but very few fish were marked. Did talk to a ifisher however he is not registered he justs reads the posts. Nice guy, hope he signs on. Also there were a lot of jelly fish floating around. Cagey.

Rich
You are getting reports from retired police and current city employees. And you expected to get a truthful report

You would think both sources would have equal time to go fishing, since you know first hand how many hours a city employee puts in at work

8am to 5pm donut break time would be a sweet job, just what do you have to do to get that job anyway?? Eat 4 maple bars, 2 bear claws and 6 old fashions in 1 minute or less.

Ok you two clowns, the report i posted was the exact truth. As for you WaterPuppy maybe someone is pulling your leg, you have been had by one of your own buddies ha ha. And as for you Scrambled Eggs i still have a lot of friends packing the old badge and they might just start paying you a visit every now and then just to show you that they do work. Think about that, Getting checked everytime you go fishing, getting tickets on your way home, being called in to retest for your drivers lic. and it could go on and on. Now when would you like to buy me a donut???? By the way WaterPuppy, how's the old boat moptor running?? Cagey.

I've been a lurker for quite a while now but not the lurker mentioned. I too fished the Nehalem on Monday and can vouch for Cagey's story. One guy came late and left early because he limited but other that it was just an occasional fish seen caught. Another late arriving female caught an estimated 40+ lb'er.

We spent most of the previous week at the mouth of the Nestucca crabbing. Very slow fishing down there yet. I fished only Sunday and no fish were caught. Reportedly on Saturday six fish were caught. All other days maybe only a single fish caught at the jaws.

Roy,
............ah never mind, if I say it you'll ask if I squat. Again

(sniff sniff) Your boat stinks.

Cagey,
Motor and boat are fine, thanks for asking. Got lots of blood on the floor although it's 2 weeks old. Funny how that lurker just happened to be at your house. And he is a good guy. Scrambled, thats a good one.

FlyChucker, let me be the first to welcome you aboard.

Hi there Cagey...... Guess its time to come out of the closet and type something in here. lol Nice to meet you out there Monday also. Your report is darn accurate from what I saw out there. I will confirm the 48lb'r caught Monday (although the guy that caught it had stretched it to 49 by the time I hit the docks )
Clear water=cold water and that always seems to slow down the bite at the jaws.. Did'nt see a fish caught once the water temp dropped below 50 and that was true both Sunday and Monday.
Kelly ( Jetty Fishery ) says I'm there more than he is so I'll catch ya again soon I'm sure.
We boated a 54lb'r labor day 2000 and got a 48 a few weeks later so keep after em. Maybe that bar will lay down and the water will warm to jump start the bite again.

Hope my typings ok and my spelling isnt too bad LOL Good Fishin to Ya

Welcome aboard, CptCatchem and FlyChucker.

You're in some good company in this thread. These guys may hurl verbal grenades at one another, but they're some of the best, and good fishermen, too.

Have fun here & share some stuff!

Welcome CptCatchem
I assume you are the guy who gets his paycheck from the same place waterdog does. I have a hard time using the word "work" and waterdog in the same sentence anymore

Cagey - I would be happy to buy you a donut, I assume if we get donuts in McMinnville we can use your frequent donut card for a huge discount. I bet you can tell me the name of the wife of the owner of the Winchells in McMinnville, her childrens name, and what the entire family drives.

Just to keep things on the up and up it’s the “Donut Kettle” not Winchell’s.

Bait your one to talk about working. I’ll admit you might work harder off hours but that’s only because you create your own projects like melted bow line recoveryl, charred fence repair, flaming tree removal, melted paint removal and replacement, and inferno smoker repair.

CptCatchem welcome to the site. Don’t worry about us, we always play like this.
