Default Incoming tide in the Columbia?

I don't remember if the river actually backs up around Government Island and the mouth of the Sandy on a high tide. Is there enough current this afternoon at high tide to anchor and fish?

SJP, this depends on the flow at Bonneville and the size of the tide. The current will slow down for sure and may even push back upriver. Most folks fish the outgoing tide only, concentrating on the last two hours as the most productive time.

The tides can influence the river all the way to the dam.

Thanks Pilar. Haven't been able to get out in the morning this week so I was hoping to grab the evening turn tonite. Maybe I'll wait for Saturday.
