Where on cascade head is the stott mtn part, The regs are not specific, All it says is that it is part trask and part stott mtn. I dont want to hunt in the wrong part. does anyone know?

Grande Ronde would be a good start for a general location of the unit. Downloading a map would be the best idea though. Good luck!

my understanding is the high way to salem is the cut off, If I am not mistaken, Cascade head is in the Trask unit and not the Stott Mnt Unit

everything north of Hwy 18 and the Salmon river is the trask unit. Cascade head is just north of the river

according to the map I have It looks like a good portion of it is stott mtn.

It says that everything inside the dotted line is stott mtn unit.

on that map the area with the diagonal slashes is cascade head, that though is in the trask unit. Look at the description of the Stott Mt. unit in the hunting regulations. It says the northwest boundry is the mouth of the Salmon river with the river being the north boundry to hwy 18 and hwy 18 is the boundry east until it hits hwy 22

You would think that the ODFW would post the boundries better and would also supply maps for the WHOLE unit as well. arent those dots on the map more of just a guideline anyway? Cascade head is open to shotgun and archery only.

As it looks to me, it looks like the stott mtn unit. according to the description it states portions of stott mtn unit.
Guess I am going to have to try to find a game officer and have them walk me thru the woods so we can identify the different units.

Three rocks road is just north of the salmon making it in the Trask. I think mabye some of the confusion comes from the expansion of the shotgun and archery areas this year. In the years past the cascade head area and the salmon river estuary have been shotgun and archery only and this year they extended that area to include the east side of devils lake and the drift creek and schooner creek flats all of which is in the Stott Mt. unit. The boundry between the trask and Stott mt have'nt changed meaning you ca'nt hunt the late archery season on cascade head because it is in the trask unit.

It's pretty simple, north of salmon river trask. South of Salmon river Stott. Part of Cascade head area is south of the Salmon river. I have hunted the area in the past. Thick dose not discribe it well enough.
